    Hi All,

Would any of you happens to know the difference between them or they are actually the same thing just plain marketing?

If any of you have experience with these please do share your thoughts.

    Thank you.

    Cheers,
    Brandon

According to the items description, the tozando one is made 100% polyester. The Yamato one is made of 65% polyester/35% rayon.

The company providing the fabrics seems to be the same (Toray), but it is not the same fabric (again, according to the items description).

I bought Tozando's seersucker iagi which is 100% cotton for comfortable summer training. I wear the all year around now as they're so comfortable compared to man-made fibres.

One word of warning, I had problems with Tozando embroidery beginning to unravel after the first wash on two different gi. I told them but because it was over two weeks since I took delivery they weren't obliged to do anything. The law if very different over here in the UK!

Silly me of not noticing the materials. But really in terms of performance which would be better when it comes to holding its shape?
How about comparing to Tetron from eBogu?

So far I've not try any embroidery services from Tozando but thanks for heads up

We have had good luck with e-bogu's tetron hakama. In years past I have bought Toray through another supplier and they are also good. You are over-thinking this, it's a beginners uniform, just get it and have done. In a few years if you are still practicing you will want to get something better.

I have tried a few materials over the years on some pretty hard floors... one of my current areas has lino, complete with 'walked in' sand, which has an evil effect on hakama. pure tetron seems to 'melt' on this very quickly, but the mixed manmade and natural fibre type seem to take a bit longer to wear through at the knees. cotton by itself also doesn't last.

A man's word is his honour, a womans word... I never listen to them long enough...
They will have to pry the sword from my cold dead fingers....
Why are you reading this instead of being out training???? Excuses not accepted....

Toray is the fabric maker, not the garment maker. Tetron and Tetrex are virtually the same fabric made from synthetic fibre will and both hold their shape very well. If your trainings are fairly dynamic, you will sweat much more in Tetron/Tetrex than if you wear cotton. If you buy Tetron/Tetrex, also buy a cotton undershirt (juban) otherwise the gi will stick to you, when it gets a bit damp. Some people reserve their Tetron/Tetrex outfit for exams and competition.

Just have a look what people in hot countries tend to wear on a daily basis and it'll virtually always be cotton. I have the seersucker 100% cotton Iaigi and a polyester/rayon mix version too and I never wear the latter after feeling the comfort of the former.

Well, not all Tetron iai clothes are at the cheap end of the scale. Some are custom tailored, look a bit like silk and are quite nice.
