Benefits of chocolate milk as recovery drink

Another interesting study that indicates chocolate milk is better than just a carb drink (I'm thinking it was probably a sports drink like Gatorade) for recovery.

I've read this somewhere previously, and being drink it after practice for quiet sometimes. Maybe it just me, but I felt like being charged a bit.
Not really "fat-free" chocolate milk though.

It provides simple carbs and protein....and it tastes good.

Though I personally prefer my whey protein shake after a good kendo practice. And some beer like most kendoka.

Not particularly suprising, carb drinks aren't designed for recovery in the slightest. In other news, chocolate milk also cures dehydration better than a piece of wood of equivalent weight.

Milk's great though, I drink plain skim milk after workouts because protein powder tastes like ass

You are in luck! Beer also makes a fine recovery drink.

It is in many ways like chocolate milk: it has simple carbohydrates to replenish your depleted glycogen stores. And it is delicious.
