See http://www.bogubag.com/Shinai/shinai.html, about the middle of the page. Also, not all tsuba Koei carries are listed there, but you can get them if you just ask. I know you can get clear ones, purple ones and black ones. You can also get various swanky tsuba-dome. The part number for a clear one is 31-182.

E-mail the Koei people in Japan to send you their Japanese-language catalog. Then, you can order whatever you like from www.bogubag.com.

It's a tool for making the hole in the tsuba bigger. The $25 shipping would probably be EMS from Japan, expensive for 1 item. If you ordered it with some other stuff your shipping costs would go down.

The reamer is especially necessary if you have koban grip shinai and you want the leather tsuba to fit. The basic tsuba does fit at first go though, but I'm not sure if that applies to the clear tsuba.

Try the leather handmade tsuba's from e-bogu.com i own one and the designs look very unique and the thick leather looks good on ur shinai. I have the firestorm leather tsuba.

Nah, you can accomplish the same thing with a round wood rasp that you can pick up for $10 from any hardware store.

Speaking of leather tsuba's, other than looking fancy, is there an advantage over an el-cheapo plastic tsuba? I'm talking bokken and shinai here.

No. As a rich-boy show-off who has bought one for both, a leather tsuba doesn't make a difference. Both weigh the same. Looks good though.
