    Any samurai in kendo?

Since I can't join a dojo or heavily become a part of the kendo community yet I thought I would ask here. Would you say that during your time in kendo that you've every met anyone that truly resembled what you think a modern day samurai would be like?

let's say it like this......there can't be any samurais around today.....there may be men out of a samurai family, however they aren't samurais any more
....if there would...they would do seppuko at once...for they couldn't follow their codex(=bushido) any more in this modern world!
100 of years nobody could finish the samurais of...not even the mongolians...
only the time was able to do so....
after the samurais weren't any more able to fight in wars they tried to become buisnessmen....but only 1 out of 100 samurai were able to become one, for the not samurai buisnessmen were allowed to lie or to be unloyal...only a few samurai became buisnessmen...and if they did they weren't samurai any more!

A "modern-day samurai" would probably be, say, a Marine Special Forces soldier.

Yeah. Loads of them at the beginner's end.

Needless to say, they all left.

Funny thing but you have a point. Well trained fighters with high moral value. Also you don't seem to meet or hear about many dishonorable marines now do you? That's a retorical btw as I'm sure there are more then a few marines that have went bad as they and samurai were still only human. I would imagine if there were samurai still around they wouldn't be very active in the mainstream of today's word as it definetly isn't as simple and as someone stated above doesn't really go with the bushido. I suppose you might only find them in a dojo here or there but what kind of work would they do I wonder?
