Visiting dojos?

I'm going on vacation in a few days, and decided to visit a kendo dojo in the area where I'm going to be. I sent an e-mail to the overseer of the sckf about the dojo I wanted to visit, complete with my rank, the senseis I train under, and my own federation (cckf) My question is: What are the other formalities I have to take, and what are some things I should keep in mind when visiting a dojo? Also do I need a letter from my sensei for permission, or as recomendation to practice, or some such. I'm only going to be able to practice for 1 day (if that) so any information will be helpfull. Thanks.
