Who's your favourite kendo idol, and why ?

Miyazaki Masahiro sensei for me !!! He's just magic, if you see how clean his cuts are, against the best kendokas in the world, you'd think he slowed down time paused it and hit men. I just saw one against Ariga sensei (can't get his name right) the one whom Miyazaki played before his brother in the finals of an AJKC, and his brother won with a pace changed men ? (dayum that was perfect of perfects timing). Well anyways Ariga sensei went to hit Miyazaki sensei's men..you could see Ariga's shinai rising, but Miyazaki hit the fastest debana men I ever saw or maybe ever will.

    Thumbs up

Moriji Mochida sensei, who remain undefeated untill he was well over 80. And my own sensei as well, for being so strick on insisting his students do good kendo.

Did Kim Kyung Nam get convicted of rape? holy sh!t!!!.....so much for the kendo spirit..instead he becomes the Mike Tyson of the kendo world...awsome kendoka though.

Gotta agree with you about Eiga Naoki (i think i learned tsuki from the same video as you - the WKC in Santa Clara against the taiwan player? )..as well as his ability to stay cool and handle pressure..

Asides from Eiga; Miyazaki for his all round speed and skill...Tsubota for her positive attacking style..Chikamoto for his footwork..Sato M..Iwasa..all the 8 Dan sensei..the list could go on an on

    Miyazaki!

Masahiro Miyazaki all the way!!! When I went to go practice with him at the police dojo that guy was sooo cool and laid-back... in the picture i have with him hes got a mouthful of watermelon and a big chunk in his hand, points for not giving a sh!t I say! Not only that when you see him between matches in the videos of all japan taikais the man shows no stress what-so-ever. He gets my vote just for being so cool and calm!

    Cool!
How did you get to train with him?

I'd go for Nakakura Sensei, because he did a lot for the development of Kendo in Belgium.
And I also pick Sagawa Sensei, I haven't really seen him do Kendo, but his attitude is great .
