    9 targets?

    men = 1
    kote = 2
    do = maybe 2
    tsuki = 1

    that's 6 targets.. the do is kinda stretching it still

    maybe you're including migi and hidari men? although i'd group it into one since it's just a variation on the way the spot is hit. but that's only 8 in total

    To answer koma's question... yeah i'd watch that show.

    I generally don't like reality tv... it seems to be ruining television by feeding off our natural voyeurism at some level instead of just creatively entertaining us... reality tv has also been cutting out actors and writers and in some cases, directors, which is bad news.

    but if it was about kendo maybe i'd make a point to watch it.

    however the losing player shouldn't be cut.. the cut should be voted on seing as the losing player is not always the worst on the team.

    But all the teams would have to vote a player out to keep the numbers even. Maybe for a surprise twist the 2 teams remaining get to choose one of the deleted players to compete in the final round and share the prize money.

    That's correct. There is already a Reality Kendo Show. To see it just go to e-bogu and on the menu on the left you can access the webcam which shows their warehouse and sometimes the comings and goings of the employees.

    I'm kinda upset (a little mad) that they called it a "win" for the fencer. Just like another member said, fencing's target is like, your whole body, whereas targets in kendo is so much more limited.

    In my opinion, kendo's targets are narrowed down to body parts that matter and really crucial for survival and fighting. If a person was to get cut in one of the targets in kendo, you'll have no chance in winning the fight, whereas fencing will take so many more slits to make your opponent weak and unable to fight. If we took that challenge 200 years ago with old fencer and kendouka, kendouka (or a samurai) will just break the fencing sword (or whatever u call that flimsy thing) in half and his body in half. In real life with real swords, I think kendo will whip fencing's butt all day and night long.

I would certainly not want to be the one trying to block a rapier so I'd try to keep the offensive, and I'd want to land a fatal blow as quickly as possible so he doesn't just dodge around my attacks and get alot of small cuts and stabs. How would you handle yourself?
    i would just come at the guy as quick as i can and go for the best opening, because the fencer with that small ass sword cant block an all out effort with my shinai.
