    akatsuki-ichikawa

I'm just wondering what you guys think about this particular shinai akatsuki-ichikawa. Personally I dont think I'd use this shinai even if I can afford it.

I think it's just a stupid marketing ploy to persuade foreigners that this is what you need to be Joe-Bushi in the dojo. Silly.

I had a chance to handle a shinai similar to the Akatsuki. The Morimoto Shinai really is very attractive from a purely aethestic point of view. The distributor was quick to point out to anyone interested in it that at most you would use it for suburi practice. You will see from the link below that they refer to it as a tool for suburi only.

I think it might appeal to someone whose interior decoration plans call for displaying budo paraphenalia on the walls. I think it is really just for display purposes. Nonetheless, it really is a cool thing if you can't think of anything else on which to spend US$120.

I'd buy it, just to show it to some idiotic fan boys, then burn it before their eyes. I love disillusioning otaku. Too bad many of them barely have the intellectual power to be deluded, let alone disillusioned. Most of the time you just get the intellectual equivalent of a BSoD.

iwatekenshi>> Nice way to put it, Joe-Bushi... I like that one.
