    i didnt think the greeks really had a sword style. i thought they just used spears, and then bashed each other with their blunt little pieces or metle.

    Some of the posts got off topic and started focusing on spears, bow and arrows, and large scale battles. The question was about sword styles.
    Without this actually occuring in history, we can only come up with a hypothesis on which was better and why.
    One Greek soldier with a Greek sword and shield vs. one Japanese samurai with a Japanese sword. On a first time confrontation without studying the other person's fighting style, there are too many variables.

    Which is better, pork souvlaki or tonkatsu? Depends on the restaurant.

    1.the greeks had sword style2.films like troy are not to be believed as historical truth
    3.there was a weapon called sarissa that pretty much looked like a naginata
