    It's like Bill Hicks said...

I remember watching one of Bill Hicks' live comedy acts and him saying that "How Bush(Senior) was a real asshole because he goes around the world selling arms to people, then hops up on the podium and says, 'the world today is a dangerous place because nations are buying more WMDs'.

We're like the big bully in Shane...you know...the guy who throws the gun on the floor in front of the farmer and says "pick up the gun" and then blasts him away.

"You saw him...he had a gun."

I mean here's Condoleezza Rice going around saying Europe should not sell arms to China because it upsets peace in the region and then she sells a bunch of F-15 or 16's to Pakistan. India goes red over it and her reply is "Oh, don't worry...we'll sell some to you too..."

    Nice...

Welcome back Meng. Hisashiburi desu ne!

    My fave Hicksian diatribe:

"Handguns are legal in the US and there were 50,000 handgun-related deaths last year. In the UK, they are illegal and last year there were 14. 14 deaths from handguns. But there is NO connection between having a handgun and shooting someone with it, and not having a handgun and not shooting someone with it, and you'd be a fool and a Communist to make one."

"Besides, those 14 people were probably killed by Americans on holiday:'WHAT?? Call that a BURGER??!!' <BLAM!> 'You don't BOIL PIZZA!!' <BLAM!>"

    ah, all in good fun!

You should check out some of bill mahers stuff.
"Bush bragged that more Iraqis say their country is on the right track than Americans say our country is on the right track. Boy, there’s a campaign slogan for you -- 'America: More F*cked Up Than Fallujah!'" -–Bill Maher
"If I say it's safe to surf this beach, Captain - it's safe to surf this beach. I'm not afraid to surf this place, I'm not afraid to surf this f*cking place." Apocalypse Now

Study the Great Game in history and you may understand today.

About 1850-1930, it deals with the fall of the Ottoman Empire and how the Europeans, Russians, and US were going to divide the Empire. You also should study the formation of the buffer states of the Soviet Union and how arms and financial support was used to influence the countries.

Oh, don't forget the Yalta conference near the end of WWII and how Churchill, Roosevelt, and Stalin set the stage for the Cold War.

Different people though history, same problems, same solutions.

How is that saying, "Those that don't study history are bound to repeat it." Sounds like most politicians, they study political science.
