    Detroit tourney/Seminar Update

Bad news! I've been authorized to pass this on. As of this writing, the Miyazaki brothers will NOT be able to come to the U.S. for the Detroit seminar. Because they are police, they have received an anti-terrorism assignment of some kind that forbids them from coming at this time.

    BUMMER!

The seminar will go on, just not with the Miyazaki bros.

    Unhappy Detroit

I was so looking forward to meeting and training in the seminar with the Miyazaki Senseis. You sure have some big shoes to fill there Charlie. Still looking forward to the weekend and meeting some of you. Jerry

Yeah, I don't know what they're going to do. But the best teachers in the midwest will be there, so I'm sure it will be worth it! We'll just have to drown our sorrows at the after-party.

May I suggest you move to Afghanistan since you'll be safer there.

Let me be the first to say....
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooo!

MAN this really ticks me off! ARGH! And I'm doubly screwed...I can't "drown my sorrows" at all. Unless of course it is with Coca Cola or somesuch.

    Double sigh.

I don't know what they're going to do instead. A kata seminar would be nice! In the past, the head instructor for the Tokyo Metr. Police - I think his name is Nishiyama or Nakamura? - has lead kata seminars. Very valuable stuff!

Thems the breaks, eh? Look on the bright side, the Miyazaki bros. have to go fight evil. And you think you have it bad! I heard they were planning a trip down to New Orleans after the event for some R&R - there goes that!

    Lightbulb Detroit Seminar

It does not matter to me who teaches the seminar or what is covered. I have an opportunity to train with ranking senseis and other kendoka. A chance to make new friends and enjoy training together. I know I will come away with a good experience because I am planning on having a good experience. Let just go, train hard and enjoy. Looking forward to meeting some of you in Detroit. Jerry

As an update...I won't be coming afterall. My ride to Detroit was in the form of my friends Daisuke and Rikiyo. They've decided that not having the Miyazakis there makes it worth not going. So, I won't be able to attend either.

Don't worry though, I'll get to meet you all someday!
