If just one person, do you have a good way to practice KATA?

Can you practice KATA by one person? I was thinking it for long time, how can I practice KATA by myself, because I don't have partners to practice together. And it's not enough to practice twice one week in Dojo . So I have to practice more by myself........

When they have injuries, or are feeling sick, a few of my sempais practice kata on their own, instead of doing keiko. They generally practice in front of the mirror, doing first one half of the kata and then the other (shidachi or uchidachi).

You could practice on your own, without a mirror, but using one may help you see your feet and get a better look at your overall posture.

    Thumbs up Kata and Visualization

It is easy to practice kata by yourself because you have an opponent who always does their part perfect. Visualize your opponent doing the other half of the kata. Practice as both Uchidachi and as Shidachi. Visualization is a powerful tool used by elite athletes in all sports. Visualize kata when you are in bed at night and do them over and over in your head. You will constantly be reinforcing kata to your memory. Then when you train with a partner it will be much easier to preform the katas.

The above two posts pretty much cover it. Use a mirror if your practice area has one, it really does help.

    Just a little hint.
Do not try it in rooms which are not high enough.
That makes your roof look like hell. :-/
But still I´m doing them sometimes alone, too.
You just have to "feel" everytime if you´re doing right.
My teacher keeps saying "There nothing unnatural in kendo."
So just check if you feel "comfortable" and not too tense doing kata. (Don´t relax, you shall sweat.)

May your ki be with you.
