World Peace Proposals...

Well instead of arguing who's right or wrong, who should die who shouldn't. How about a thread on some world peace? hehe What are somethings you think might be possible for world peace? After seeing the Tsunami disasters, these are some things I came up with.

As for me:

1. We need an aliens invade Earth and dominate it so every country can shut up and united. If they fight, the aliens will blast them to the deepest part of hell. By this time, humans will united again because humans only unite when some craps they can't take care by themselves. I'm using the aliens to play the bad guys so we can see what a bunch of idiots we are that we can't be nice to each other until crap happens. Great timing to propose a world peace resolution after we kick the aliens out.


2. Just somebody, I don't care who. Dominate the world, again, we won't be friends until someone do crap things to all of us. This won't work as well as the Aliens now coz people will hate this certain country where this guy was from.

3. United Nations should just be called "The Earthies" because under one country, everybody will follow the same laws and orders. There will be only one citizenship, and you're an Earthling. Everybody is free to travel anywhere without borders. Marry whoever the heck you like, 100 years from now everybody will be the same colors because interracial marriages can really tone everybody to brown. And this entire Earthies nation willl work better if we have all those biometrix systems installed just like "The Minority Report" (we still have to keep track of the criminals and rebels after all)

well, she did try to make an interesting thread so i'm going post anyway.


simple truth is, the world will never be at peace. people fight because they are different, because thier beliefs are different, because the have different perspective, etc. and the only time fighting will stop is when every one becomes a neutral uniform clone of one another. that world, i will never want to live in. its in our nature to fight. we may be a step up from primates but we have not shed our deep animalistic instincts just yet.

talking out differences will never work either. compromising is just a method to ensure that both sides don't get what they want.

and if there was a ruler or dictator to fight, wouldn't there be people fighting on his side too?

Thanks Piggy, at least one person takes this a bit serious. I totally agree with you, we'll never have world peace. Well, let's say in your own imaginary world, what would you think might work? It doesn't hurt to dream, wish, and imagine that one day we'll have world peace

my idea would be to form small, closed societys that were completely self-sufficient. each would have a doctor, a farmer, a teacher, etc. that way by having small individual societys, the people would be easily controlled, able to develop thier own working system and form thier own set of beliefs.

of course, you could not completely isolate these colonies. if you did, they would eventually get out of control.

thats just my ideal future.

Its an interesting topic, so i'll try to keep it alive....
I have to agree with Mugu and piggy....world peace is something that we can only dream about. As for the ideal society.....i have no idea. I guess it would be if all people saw each other as equal/had a much weaker emphasis on material possesion and gain. Unfortuantly...thats already been tried (communism), and i think everyone can agree that communist governments are as far from ideal in real life.

Just look at the European Countries they are in peace but you wouldnt say the same thing 60 years ago. If it works there why would it not work everywhere else?

communism is theoretically the perfect form of government. unfortunately, people figured out that they didn't have to work to get paid. thats why communism on a small scale would work.

ya well most of them are. My point is its clearly better than 60 years ago!

I guess what you guys are trying to get at is that while world peace may not be a realistic goal in the near future, imporving relationships between countries/different ethinic or religious groups is not. Hopefully, things will get better in the near future....

Anyway, to deliver an opinion... I think the UN should abandon the veto, which is clearly very strange. I mean, give me a good reason why the "winners" of WW2 should have more power than the rest of the world.
