you said it right there, all thsoe things are called what? oh yeah 'b-boying' isn't that putting it all into one category? And the first thing you do when you DJ is not scratching...before you even get to that you have to learn how to mix and match beats...!!!

    1. lame scratching

    2. unoriginal beatbox

    3. break dancing = b-boying

    1 + 2 + 3 =! fresh.

ill say it again, you can always tell an amatuer dj when they go wild on the scratches.

Wow, you can dare to say they are not original ?? I still see all other MTV hip hops are scratching too. I still see them doing break dance style all the time. Are they all lame ? I see you using Mingshi's comment as your signature is not original. As a matter of fact, your bad hair-do icon is lame too.. hah~~~

I see what you're saying but your post now...

But doing a lot of scratches reallly isn't a sign of a amateur..anyone can get caught up in a moment and get into what they are doing...that goes for everything, not just amateur dj's..The only thing i would label as an amateur dj is trying to mix..but missing the beat...so the beat drops (or song)....Once again i still stand, scratching is hard enuff. to call someone lame or an amateur for scratching is kind of whack..especially since it takes a lot to learn it in the first place. That's like calling a kendoka lame for missing their target, but if they're beginners what else can they do..or calling someone lame for hitting a target over and over again to practice
