Ladies and Gentlemen,
Registration for the 9th Kendo World Keiko-kai is now open! This event – back after a six-year break – will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025, at the historic Sakura Seishonen Gymnasium in Sakura City, Chiba.
We have scheduled this keiko-kai to be right after the International Kendo Leader's Seminar, which is being held in nearby Katsuura from October 17 to 24, 2025. In previous years many participants of this seminar have joined the keiko-kai, so if you're taking part in this seminar, why not continue your kendo journey in Japan?
Keiko will be from 15:00 to 17:30 and then there will be a party in the Wishton Hotel Yukari from 19:00 to 21:00 with a buffet and all-you-can-drink liquid refreshments. The cost to take part in this event is ¥10,000.
The first part of the keiko-kai will feature instruction from the 8-dan sensei before they put on their men and join in with the participants. To date, the following 8-dan sensei have confirmed that they will be attending: H8-dan Nagao Susumu of Meiji University; K8-dan Ome Satoshi, a junior high school principal in Chiba; and K8-dan Watanabe Seiichiro and K8-dan Sugo Koji, both of the high school sports federation.
To register, please send an email to 9th-keiko-kai@kendo-world.com with your name, nationality, age, and dan grade.
If after the party you would like to stay in Sakura, we do have a limited number of rooms on hold at the Wishton Hotel Yukari. If you would like a room, please let us know and we will confirm the price.
We hope to see you there!
